Nationalism & Justice
We stand for Bharat, and we stand for the Hindus of Bengal. We shall not be quiet on either count.
Nationalistic Activities
Taking the Tiranga to 15,000 homes. When the Prime Minister called for Har Ghar Tiranga, we carried the flag into Bengal and raised more than 15,000 Tirangas in Hindu homes.
We did not take them to the houses that already had one. We carried them to mud walls and tin roofs, and to single rooms shared by six people.
The Tiranga does not ask what a Hindu's house is built of. It rises the same way over every one of them, and from the road it looks the same.
We also filled cinema halls with Hindu families who could never have bought a ticket, and we showed them URI, a film about our own soldiers. For many of them it was the first time they had sat inside a cinema.
A poor Hindu loves this nation as much as a rich one does. We make certain he is handed the same flag to raise.
Legal Aid
Justice for families who cannot pay.The violence takes one night. The case takes years.
When political violence reaches a Hindu family in Bengal, the damage everyone sees is the damage that is visible by morning. The burnt house. The injuries. The funeral. Nobody photographs the four years that follow. The FIR that was never written properly. The hearing adjourned once again. The lawyer's fee that costs more than the family earns in a whole season.
Most families stop. Not because they have forgiven anyone, but because they cannot afford to keep fighting.
We provide legal representation to Hindus assaulted for their vote or for their faith. We arrange the lawyers. We carry the paperwork. We sit in the corridors on the dates when nobody else turns up.
It is slow work and it takes no photograph. SinghaBahini does not go home before the verdict.
Protests & Activism
Standing up for the faith of Bengal. There is a great deal this state will tolerate hearing. Maa Kali is not part of it.
When a sitting Member of Parliament spoke of Maa Kali in terms that wounded Hindu devotees across Bengal, SinghaBahini went out onto the street.
We did not go because we are easily offended. We went because in lakhs of Hindu homes in this state She is not an idea to be handled cleverly in front of an audience. She is the one a Hindu family turns to at two in the morning, when there is no one else left to turn to.
We protested for those homes, and we shall protest again for any of our deities, on any day, whoever is doing the speaking.
We shall never remain silent when our Gods or our people are attacked.
